Successful Conversion of a Caterpiller C-15 Engine to Dual Fuel
Diesel LPG Operation

For immediate release. 26th April 2007

Successful conversion of a Caterpiller C-15 Engine to Dual Fuel – Diesel LPG operation.

Alternative Engine Technologies Pty Ltd trading as Duofuel Systems is pleased to announce today that it has successfully converted a Kenworth 604 Prime Mover with a Caterpiller C-15 Engine to Diesel LPG dual fuel operation. The vehicle
along with two other similar trucks are all owned by the same customer who has ordered the vehicles progressively
over the last year.

The vehicles in question now run on one third LPG and two thirds diesel, resulting in savings of between 5-8 cents per kilometer depending upon the relevant fuel prices at any given time, and after deducting the 18.5 cents per litre diesel rebate and the 9.54 cents per litre LPG rebate and GST.

The first truck done has now completed close to 300,000 kilometres with hassle free operation, and is still going. Perhaps the best indication is this, a customer who tried a competitors product came to ours and asked them, when the AET system breaks down, what breaks and how long and how much does it cost to repair – our customer replied, I cannot answer your question as it has not broken down.

The actual performance of the trucks is much smoother and with the dramatic increase in low end torque, the drivers have an average 20 minutes free time extra during each 8 hour shift.

The vehicle’s greenhouse gas emissions are reduced due to the lower carbon content of the fuel being used

Our customer is pleased to say the least, and has made enquiries for several more truck conversion kits which we expect to supply and commission in coming months.

The Alternative Engine Technologies Pty Ltd Dual Fuel System (Duofuel) is a patented product owned and controlled here in Australia, and is a world leading dual fuel conversion technology for turbo diesel motors in almost any application, and works on every major engine type. The system can use LPG/LNG/CNG/Ethanol – whichever is the best solution for your truck/business operation.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss further, or find out how to see a truck in action.
