Successful conversion of a Volvo FM9 Prime Mover to Dual Fuel Diesel/LPG operation.
Alternative Engine Technologies Pty Ltd trading as Duofuel Systems is pleased to announce today that it has successfully converted a Volvo FM9 Prime Mover to Dual Fuel Diesel/LPG operation, resulting in improved operational performance, reduced fuel costs and reduced carbon emissions.
Our customer is pleased to say the least, and has made enquiries for several more truck conversion kits which we expect to supply and commission in coming months.
In practical terms the vehicle runs on Diesel and LPG at the same time. Initial figures for this vehicle show that the normal daily run previously used $420 worth of diesel (at pump prices) and now uses $230 of Diesel and $82 worth of LPG (both at pump prices), a saving of $108 per day, a cost saving of 25%.
Better yet, with a reduction of diesel usage (replaced with LPG) the indicative CO2 savings per km (based on AGO published tables and calculators) is 11%
